St.
Michael School of Cavite (SMSC) was formerly known as St. Michael Learning
Center (SMLC)
SMLC
was established in 1988 at Duplex Homes, Molino IV, Bacoor,Cavite to serve the
growing population of Molino IV, Bacoor, Cavite. Mrs Gloria M. Claveria, an educator
who had rendered long years of service in public school teaching founded SMLC
through the help of the National Federation of Women’s Club and with the
support of pre-elementary school as its initial educational offering.
Amidst
clamor and the need to open additional grade school levels, SMLC was changed to
SMSC in 1991. On Sept. 10,1992, the government recognized the pre-elementary
school composing of the nursery, kinder and preparatory to grade 1 levels.
In
the year 1996, SMSC transferred to its new home at Citihomes Subdivision,
Molino IV, Bacoor, Cavite. Government recognition for complete elementary
levels was accorded to SMSC on the same year.
Heading
the request of parents to open the high school levels, 1st year and
2nd year levels were put in place for the school year 1997-1998 with
a permit to operate from the government. Third and Fourth year high school
levels were granted permit to operate in school year 1998-1999. The first
commencement exercise for the 4th year high school took place in the
year 2000.
Finally,
the recognition for the complete secondary level was granted on March 23,2000.
